A Call to Action

The NC Rate Bureau has requested statewide increases in homeowners’ insurance rates to become effective August 1. The rate requested for beach areas in Onslow County is 99.4%, and 71.4% in the Eastern Coastal areas within the 28460 zip code. The Town will be sending a statement of opposition on the proposed increases and Mayor McDermon will be speaking against the increases during the Virtual Public Comment Forum on January 22, 2024. The Town would like to encourage all real property owners to also participate in the public comment forums being offered.
