Hurricane Preparedness Week

When is the best time to prepare for a hurricane? The best time to prepare is BEFORE hurricane season begins on June 1st. This week is National Hurricane Preparedness Week. Know your risks and have a plan for your family and pets. We’ve put together a Hurricane Preparedness page with information and resources to help you prepare.

The Town is preparing, and staff has training scheduled throughout this month that focus on damage assessment, training with our debris management contractors to train on disaster management and operations, FEMA updates/policy changes, as well as operational challenges and emerging trends.

We're excited to announce that we are partnering again with Onslow County Emergency Services and the US National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC to host a Hurricane Community Forum here at Town Hall. We will be announcing a date soon!
