Preparations for Tropical Storm Idalia

Preparations for Tropical Storm Idalia, which is expected to impact our area late Wednesday into Thursday are underway.   Town staff has been busy throughout the day doing a beach survey to remove any abandoned items found on the beach,  deploying our drone to capture pre-storm beach conditions this afternoon, and visiting contractor sites to encourage tie downs and emptying of dumpsters.  We have contacted GFL to inquire if there will be any changes in trash service and as of now, collections will continue as scheduled.  They will be further evaluating schedules and collections at the end of today and intend on advising us of any changes.  Please make sure your trash and recycling containers after your scheduled pick-up are returned to your property and safely secured.
