Sea turtle nesting season is here!

Help our endangered sea turtles successfully lay their eggs by turning off outdoor lights after dark and dimming or pulling curtains/shades on interior lights.  The darker the beach, the better.  Also remember to fill in all holes dug on the beach and remove all personal property from the beach by 9 PM as they can trap and deter nesting sea turtles.

The Town now has outdoor mats available for sale at Town Hall with a Lights Out May - October sea turtle design, perfect for beach front rentals to remind guests about the season, and we sell sea turtle safe exterior amber LED lightbulbs that can replace all your exterior white lightbulbs.  If you want to experience how sea turtles see our lights, come by Town Hall between 8 AM and 5 PM to see our fantastic new Sea Turtle Vision light display.  Let’s give our sea turtles a dark, clean and smooth beach this season.
