Heat Advisory & Potential Severe Weather

The hottest day of the year thus far is expected today, Monday, July 3.  Temperatures well into the 90s combined with a very humid air mass will produce widespread heat indices above 105 degrees Monday afternoon.  A heat advisory is in effect.

This evening, severe thunderstorms may break out across portions of Eastern NC. At this time, it appears the most favored locations are northwestern and northern parts of ENC, with the most likely time for the severe storms after around 5 pm.
