Staff continues to monitor Hurricane Debby. Considerable uncertainty remains with the track and impacts beyond today. We urge you to sign up for CodeRed to receive emergency communications from the Town of North Topsail Beach and for residents to obtain your reentry passes if you have not already done so. If you have a reentry pass that was issued in 2020, they are valid through 2024. If you still need one, please stop by Town Hall and we will be happy to assist you.
Things to know:
- GFL Wednesday Trash Services – With the current track and timing, they do not anticipate changes to their schedule this week. They will continue to monitor the storms projected path and advise us if anything changes. If service occurs as scheduled, please promptly remove the carts from the roadside and secure them on your property.
- North End Drive on Area – Will not open on Wednesday morning and will remain closed throughout this event.
- Richard Peters Park – Will not open on Wednesday morning and will remain closed throughout this event.
- Board of Aldermen Meeting – Currently remains on schedule for Wednesday at 11:00am; however, is subject to possible cancellation. Notification will be made via the Town’s website, social media, and sunshine list if the meeting is cancelled.
- Rip Currents – Dangerous rip currents are expected through late week.
- Roadway Flooding – If you encounter flooded roadways, please do not attempt to drive through flood waters.
Staff continues to monitor and prepare for this event and have been working to ensure all equipment, generators, etc. are fueled and operable, along with our various emergency communication systems. Please stay informed on the weather approaching our area and prepare your property by securing all of your loose items if you have not already done so and ensure you have a plan for your family and pets.
