Phase 1 Truck Haul Update

ST Wooten worked through March 30, 2023 placing 24,419 CY’s of sand on the beach. Sand was placed in the area immediate to the South of the Reef including buildings 5 through 8, as well as 100 feet South of the Reef. The remaining 20,581 CY’s of sand will be placed when we resume operations in the Fall of 2023.

Nourishment Permitting of NON-COBRA Areas in Phase 1 Beach (not Dune) Nourishment

Phase 1 Truck Haul

The Town has USACE and CAMA permits to place up to 45,000 cubic yards of truck hauled sand along the Phase 1 shoreline in the area of the Topsail Reef Villas and just north. Planning is underway for this project to occur this upcoming environmental window (November 16, 2022 to April 15, 2023). Please note that this project will commence following the Phase 1 USACE dredge project. This section of shoreline is not in the CoBRA zone (which limits federal funding for many projects).
